TRAVEL & REPORTAGE PHOTOGRAPHER BASED IN FRANCE

Kia Ora, I’m Marina, a travel and reportage photographer based in the southwest of France, discreet and a bit shy. If I am reserved, I nevertheless know how to express my sensitivity through my photos. Always endowed with an adventurous soul, I sailed to distant lands after my studies in tourism. The UK and New Zealand have been my countries of residence for the past 10 years.

My Kiwi passport in my pocket, it was at the end of 2022 that I decided to return to my small village in the Landes and continue to live from my passion: photography. I started photography when I was 15 years old. Introverted by nature, I have since the beginning considered art as a wonderful means of expression, I who have never been very good with words.

When I started to travel, I combined my two passions. Whether in a bustling megalopolis, in the depths of Burma or at the top of an intimidating mountain, I like to reveal the beauty of a place through my photography.

Sometimes minimalist and conceptual, sometimes vibrant and full of  details, my images reflect the emotion that gives me the subject that I meet or the place in which I am. I don’t limit myself to just one style of photography in particular, even though I’ve always been advised to specialize in order to make a name for myself. It is clear that I will probably never be a famous travel and reportage photographer, but at least I do whatever I please 🙂

fun facts.

  • I moved to New Zealand because I've had a passion for Lord of the Rings since I'm 11 years old.

  • I practice a lot of sports that have nothing to do with each other. Among others: boxing and pole dancing. Yoga and weight lifting or rock climbing.

  • Between a solo video game/movie night and a night out with friends, I (almost) always choose the first option (sorry guys)

  • I have rather eclectic musical tastes: I like The Who and System of a Down as much as classical music and Lana Del Rey.

  • I've already spent 12 hours in a row playing video games without realizing that I had not eaten all day.

  • When I was little, I wanted to be an archaeologist...until I realized that it was less fun than in Indiana Jones!

  • I know how to write Schwarzenegger without looking the spelling on the internet.

  • I am a cinephile. I watched all the movies from Kubrick, Refn or Park Chan-Wook. But I'm also unbeatable on Stallone and the 80s-90s movies "that are so bad that they are good" (a guilty pleasure that 'm proud of)
